What Matter is great at
Matter is the most beautifully designed reader in the category. Premium audio voices that sound human. AI summaries and highlights. A Discover feed that pulls in newsletters and writers it thinks you will like. Following friends to see what they highlight.
If reading and discovery is the activity, Matter is hard to beat. Premium runs around $8 a month.
How Oneaction is different
Matter wants you to read more. Oneaction wants you to finish what you already saved. Different goal, different shape. No feed. No social. No highlights. The output of every save is one verb-led action under six words, then a hand-off to your todo app.
- Zero curation surface. You see only what you save.
- No follows, no shared lists, no engagement loop.
- Hand-off to Things, Todoist, TickTick, Reminders, MS To Do.
- Free during beta. No credit card.

Questions from Matter users
Can I import my Matter library?
Bulk import for Matter is in progress. Until then, paste any URL into the web app or capture it with the Chrome extension.
Does Oneaction have a Discover feed?
No, and it never will. Oneaction has no algorithmic feed, no curation, and no people to follow. You see only what you save.
Will I lose my highlights and notes?
Oneaction does not store highlights or notes. The output of every save is one verb-led action plus a short summary. If highlights are central to your workflow, Matter handles that.
Do you have audio articles like Matter?
Yes. Streaming text-to-speech starts in about a second on any saved article. Podcasts get optional transcripts on demand.
Do you have a mobile app?
Not yet. The web app works on phones. Native iOS and Android are on the roadmap. Desktop runs natively on macOS and Linux, and as a one-click PWA install on Windows.
How does pricing compare to Matter Premium?
Free during beta. No credit card. Matter Premium is roughly $8 a month. After launch, Oneaction will offer a free tier and a paid tier for heavy daily use.
