Pocket alternative

Pocket shut down. Your reading list doesn’t have to.

Oneaction reads what you save and gives you one verb-led to-do. Not another graveyard of bookmarks.

In 30 seconds

Oneaction is a Pocket alternative for people who want to act on what they save. Every link becomes one verb-led to-do you can finish today. Hand it off to Things, Todoist, TickTick, Reminders, or Microsoft To Do, or check it off inside Simple List. Free during beta. No credit card.

What happened to Pocket

Mozilla discontinued Pocket on July 8, 2025. The app stopped working that day. Export of saved data was available until October 8, 2025. After that, accounts and saves were deleted.

If you used Pocket to save articles you meant to come back to, two things are true. The tool is gone. And the read-later problem (saving more than you read) was never actually solved. Most saved articles were never opened.

How Oneaction is different

Pocket saved articles. You read them later. Oneaction reads them for you and returns one verb-led to-do you can do because of the article. Six words or less. A real next step, not a summary.

  • One action per save. Not a list of takeaways.
  • Send the action to your existing todo app, or check it off in Simple List.
  • No tags, folders, or backlinks to maintain.
  • No algorithmic Discover feed.

Migrating from Pocket

Bulk import for Pocket export files is in progress. Two paths until it ships:

  1. Start clean. Save new links as you find them.
  2. Drop your most-wanted Pocket URLs into the web app or via the Chrome extension.

When the bulk importer ships, your Pocket export file will import in one click. Subscribe to the changelog if you want to wait for it.

Questions from Pocket users

Can I import my Pocket export?

Bulk import for Pocket export files (HTML or JSON) is in progress. Until then, you can paste any URL into the web app, or use the Chrome extension to capture new links one at a time.

Does Oneaction have a Discover or recommendations feed?

No, and it never will. Oneaction has no algorithmic feed. You see only what you save.

Do you have a mobile app like Pocket did?

Not yet. The web app works on phones. Native iOS and Android are on the roadmap. Desktop runs natively on macOS and Linux, and as a one-click PWA install on Windows.

How does pricing compare to Pocket Premium?

Free during beta. No credit card. Pocket Premium was $4.99 a month. Oneaction will add paid plans after launch with a generous free tier for casual savers.

Is my saved data private?

We store the title, summary, action, and source URL. Not the full article text. We do not sell, share, or train AI on your data. Trash auto-purges daily.

Will Oneaction shut down too?

We cannot promise no product ever shuts down. We can promise this: there is no advertising business, your data is exportable from day one, and the company is built around a paid product rather than an acquisition exit.
