What Readwise Reader is great at
Readwise Reader is the heaviest of the read-later apps. It stores articles, PDFs, EPUBs, tweets, emails, YouTube transcripts, and podcasts. It surfaces highlights through daily review and spaced repetition. Ghostreader generates summaries and answers questions about your library. Power users build whole knowledge systems on top of it.
If you want a notebook that follows you across formats, it is the best tool out there. It costs $9.99 a month solo, or comes bundled with a Readwise subscription.
Why an Oneaction is different
Readwise Reader saves and surfaces. Oneaction extracts and hands off. Every saved link becomes one verb-led to-do under six words, plus the real title and a short summary. No highlights. No tags. No daily review. The action goes to your existing todo app, or stays in Simple List.
- One action per save. Not a notebook.
- Hand-off to Things, Todoist, TickTick, Reminders, MS To Do.
- No spaced repetition, no review feed, no quizzes.
- Free during beta. No credit card.

Questions from Readwise Reader users
Can I import my Readwise Reader saves?
Bulk import for Readwise Reader is in progress. Until then, paste any URL into the web app or capture it with the Chrome extension. The pipeline produces the same one verb-led to-do per save.
Does Oneaction do highlights and spaced repetition?
No. Oneaction is intentionally not a highlighting or review tool. The output of every save is one verb-led action you do once, then check off. If spaced review is core to your workflow, Readwise Reader will fit better.
Do you have a daily review feed?
No, and we will not add one. Oneaction has no feeds, no Discover surface, no algorithmic recommendations. You see only what you save.
How does pricing compare to Readwise Reader?
Free during beta. Readwise Reader is $9.99 a month solo, or bundled with a Readwise subscription. After launch, Oneaction will offer a free tier and a paid tier well below Readwise Reader's price.
Is there a mobile app like Readwise Reader has?
Not yet. The web app works on phones. Native iOS and Android are on the roadmap. Desktop runs natively on macOS and Linux, and as a one-click PWA install on Windows.
Is my data private?
We store the title, summary, action, and source URL. Not the full article text. We do not sell, share, or train AI on your data. Trash auto-purges daily.
